MARCELLO
Marcello, who made his name in the circles associated with the Funkviertel label and forum, discovered Hip Hop at a jam session. Five years after his debut album Innercity Kinder (2003 on MkZwo Records / Groove Attack), he released his second solo album, which combines elements as diverse as Rap, instrumental and musical sounds, and experimental songs, with other musicians and songwriters. Marcello is a keen observer and sharp critic of social and political conditions, who avoids all the moralising undertones. His music reflects his personality, his surroundings and touches on a whole range of everyday problems. It is influenced by French Rap and marked by the harsh realities of everyday life – this applies not only to the language, but also to the essential characteristics of music from France: the atmosphere, melody, melancholia, expressive power and feelings.
