Hybrid Event

ARTE Creative at transmediale: Californium

Thu, Feb 4, 2016
Lecture Hall
8–9.30 pm

“If you find this world bad, you should see some of the others.” (Philip K. Dick)

Californium is an exploration game in which the player wakes up in an unknown room. Through exploration, the player discovers that the year is 1967 and that the inhabited body is that of Elvin Green. Green is a not-too-successful science fiction author whose personal and professional lives are about to disintegrate entirely—along with his perception of reality. At transmediale ARTE Creative and Darjeeling Productions will host the world premiere of this game in a hybrid event. Producer Noam Roubah will present the interactive homage to the fascinating story world of the influential American cult science fiction novelist Philip K. Dick.

A television documentary about Dick and a VR fiction will simultaneously be viewable on all the distribution vectors of the European cultural channel ARTE: visit creative.arte.tv for more.
