Cookies and Web Analysis

Cookies are small text files temporarily stored by a web server in your internet browser in order to access this information again at a later date. Cookies are used among other things for personally-tailored websites and for user ID.

Specific online services on the HKW website possibly require the use of cookies, for example, to save your personal settings. These cookies are only valid for that particular session and are deleted when the browser is closed.

If the security settings of your internet browser prevent the use of one of our online services, you will receive an automatic message. If this happens, you will have to adjust your browser settings to allow cookies. You can prevent the use of cookies by setting your web browser to not accept new cookies, to notify you of new cookies or to delete all cookies already received. You can find assistance in changing the settings via the help function of your web browser. Please note that some features on our websites can only be used when cookies are allowed. We therefore recommend that you keep the cookie function switched on.

Some of our web pages contain links to websites of other companies. It is possible that these companies use their own cookies. These cookies have varying lifetimes and can only contain data relating to you personally if you have provided corresponding information on the website in question.

The HKW website collects and stores data for the purposes of marketing and website optimisation using etracker technology ( ). This data is used to create a pseudonymous user profile. Cookies can be used for this process.

Data collected with etracker technology will not be used to personally identify the visitor to these web pages without the explicit consent of the affected party and will not be combined with personal data relating to the holder of the pseudonym. You can reject the collection and storage of data by etracker at any time with effect for the future.

Use of AddThis plugins (e.g. “Share” button)

This website uses so-called social plugins by the bookmarking service AddThis, operated by AddThis LLC, Inc., 8000 West Park Drive, Suite 625, McLean, VA 22102, USA ("AddThis"). The plug-ins are usually marked with an AddThis logo, for example in the form of a white plus sign on an orange background. You can find an overview of the AddThis plugins and their appearance here .

When you visit a page of our website that contains a social plugin, your browser creates a direct connection to the servers of AddThis. The content of the plugin is transferred directly to your browser from AddThis and integrated into the site. In this way, AddThis is informed that your browser has accessed the relevant page of our website and stores a cookie on your terminal to identify your browser. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted from your browser directly to an AddThis server in the USA and stored there. AddThis uses the data to create anonymous user profiles, which serve as the basis for a personalized and interest-based advertising response for the visitors of websites with AddThis plugins.

Please refer to the privacy policies of AddThis for the purpose and scope of data collection and further processing and use of data by AddThis.

If you wish to revoke the collection of data by AddThis for the future, you can set a so-called opt-out cookie, which you can download here .

You can also completely prevent loading the AddThis plugins by using add-ons for your browser, for example the script blocker NoScript .

Advertising, Newsletter

The HKW also uses the data you provide to inform you about special offers from the HKW and its affiliated partners. You will only receive newsletters via e-mail following your explicit consent and only via post as long as you have not objected to the use of your data.

You need a valid e-mail address to receive the HKW-Newsletter. We will check the e-mail address you give us to confirm that you are its holder or that its holder has authorised receipt of the newsletter. This safeguards us against cases where a third party is misusing your e-mail address and has signed up to receive our newsletter without your knowledge. We will not collect any further data. We will use the data collected in this way exclusively for the subscription to our newsletter. We will not pass it on to a third party. We will not connect the data collected in this way with any other data that may have been collected via your use of other components of our website.

We present audio material on our website using the services provided by SoundCloud. SoundCloud is operated by SoundCloud Ltd. with headquarters at 33 St. James Square, London SW1Y 4JS, UK.

We use SoundCloud plugins on some of our webpages. When you visit a page which contains such plugins – for example, our Media Library – a connection is established with the SoundCloud servers and the plugin is shown. This provides the SoundCloud server with information about the pages you have visited on our website. If you are logged onto SoundCloud as a member, then SoundCloud may automatically assign this information to your personal user account. When you activate the plugin (e.g. by clicking the start button of an audio file), the corresponding information is also assigned to your user account.
