The Shaped to the Measure of the People’s Songs pavilion series continues in 2026 with Rhythms of Sympoiesis, designed by the Berlin based architectural duo studio in:so (Li Lin and Liang Song).

The pavilion’s title alludes to the shared temporal processes through which beings, materials, and environments continuously make and sustain one another. The pavilion’s primary building material is reed, which has been harvested, processed, bundled, stacked, and sun-dried over many months. The architects understand the structure as a temporary storage space within this cycle, allowing the material to continue drying and later re-enter another building process once the pavilion is dismantled. In this way, the design follows the rhythms of growth and harvest, care and maintenance, use and return.
