There was a time when, not knowing how to live, I took out my entrails to make a net presents an installation that takes the form of a sprawling web of interwoven silicone intestines. Rather than remaining inside individuals, the intestines extend outwards, entrapping and knitting bodies together into a shared network. Created at a time of profound loss and heartbreak, the artwork’s title is taken from an unpublished essay by Yoon that asks how humans might communicate and connect through painful experiences. In this shared vulnerability, the work finds the possibility of solidarity.

At Haus der Kulturen der Welt, the net of entrails lies horizontally on the ground, inviting visitors to step inside, lean close, and intertwine with the work. Throughout the evening, questions concerning protection, solidarity, and fear are circulated among the audience. The collected answers are tattooed directly onto the artwork throughout the evening—a  record of shared experiences of darkness and solidarity made visible through the visitors’ contributions.
