Tong Yali

Tong Yali is a Taiwanese poet, literary scholar and translator of German-language literature. Her work combines poetry, voice, sound, translation and intermedia art forms. She writes bilingually in German and Chinese, works in bilingual literary education and as a translator in both directions. She is the author of several collections of poetry, has translated over thirty books and has contributed to various poetry, sound and art projects. The theme of the “borderland”, which has been central to her writing from the very beginning, emerged from a journey she made from Tibet across the Himalayas to Nepal in 2006. Since 2023, she has been living and working in the Rhineland.
