Takumi Hosokawa

Takumi Hosokawa is a singer and sanshin musician. He began studying Ryukyuan classical music at the age of fourteen and later trained at Okinawa Prefectural Haebaru High School and Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts, specializing in Ryukyuan performance traditions. Now active as a certified instructor in the Nomura School, he performs across stage productions, live music, theatre, television, and film. He also leads the Ryukyuan performing arts studio CanDokoro, where he teaches an active community of students. His work combines rigorous tradition with a forward-looking commitment to cultural transmission. Hosokawa is based in Tokyo.
