Rodney Barreto is an award winning drummer and belongs to a family with a strong musical heritage. At sixteen, he was already participating in international tours as a professional drummer. After graduating from the Amadeo Roldan Conservatory, he was part of many groups and bands such as Interactivo, Alexander Abreu & Havana D’Primera, Omara Portuondo’s group, and Chucho Valdés´s group, with whom he won a Grammy Award with Live in Marciac. Since 2017, he acts as musical director of the Rakatan Ballet Dance Company by Nilda Guerra. In 2021, he released his first solo CD-DVD Drummer Negrito which was pre-nominated to the Latin Grammys and won in the “Making Of ”category. Barreto is based in Milano.
