Makoto Inoue

Makoto Inoue is a media artist and stage director. Born into a Nichiren Buddhist temple family, his practice explores connections between Buddhist thought, embodiment, and contemporary artistic expression. He worked as a television and stage actor and later studied corporeal mime. He subsequently developed an international career as a performer and director, presenting work in more than twenty-five countries and teaching stage arts at Academy of performing arts in Prague. Today, he creates audiovisual works combining fractal imagery, minimal sound, and spatial composition. In this project, he contributes stage direction and dramaturgical structure. Inoue is based in Berlin.
