Ken Yamamoto

Ken Yamamoto works at the intersection of poetry, sound and performance. His live performances create immersive spaces in which poetic language can be experienced physically. Within these spaces, questions of social positioning, becoming political subjects and collective memory are condensed into language and sound. His practice moves between written poetry and performative language, between the stage and the text, between the public sphere and intimacy. He has been reading and performing in bars, clubs, theatres, museums and at literary festivals since 2004. He is a member of the post-German Berlin artists’ collective parallelgesellschaft. Yamamoto lives in Berlin.
