James Noël is a leading figure in the contemporary literary scene. A prolific author translated into several languages, he describes his stance as “rage in place of engagement.” Honorary President of the 2024 Marché de la Poésie, he is also the driving force behind the journal IntranQu'îllités. His poetry collection PAONS, newly published in German, was simultaneously awarded the Prix Sirène Lapérouse and the Prix Mallarmé, making him the first poet from the Caribbean and African diasporas to receive the latter distinction. His novel Belle merveille (2017), winner of the Prix international de littérature, will be published in paperback in autumn 2026.
