David Leon is a saxophonist and composer. His work is guided by a persistent search for vitality through autonomy, contradiction, hyperbole, and humor. In 2025, David was named a Jerome Artist Resident at Roulette Intermedium and was selected for a Music Composition Fellowship by the CINTAS Foundation in 2024. Performing across a wide range of musics, he has collaborated with composer-improvisors Stephan Crump and Adam O'Farrill, folkloric maverick Manley ‘Piri’ Lopez, indie artists from the label 37d03d, shape-shifting classical outfit Metropolis Ensemble, and puppeteer Emily Batsford (CUMULO) among others. Leon is living in Brooklyn, New York.
