Karl Marlantes is an American author, businessman and decorated Marine veteran. His publications on the American war in Vietnam have received several awards (e.g. Matterhorn: A Novel of the Vietnam War, 2010).


Ethel Matala de Mazza is Professor of Modern German Literature at Humboldt University in Berlin. Her main research interests lie in the cultural theory and literary history of the political imaginary.


Lawrence Weschler is a journalist and author. He was a staff writer at The New Yorker for over twenty years and has published more than fifteen books, notably including Vermeer in Bosnia and A Miracle, A Universe. He has taught at many universities and from 2001 to 2013 directed the New York Institute for the Humanities at New York University.
