Rio 2096: The apocalyptic future has begun. War for water has broken out. It is the latest stage of the 600-year struggle of Janaína and the immortal Indian warrior Abeguar to realize their love. They have fought against injustice and oppression through the wars between the Tupinambá and the Tupiniquim, colonization, slavery, and military dictatorship. In this way, the first Brazilian animated film for adults recounts an unofficial history of the nation.

Award winner at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, 2013. Rodrigo Santoro, known from “Che,” lends the film his voice and stature.
