Borders are not only territorial, they also run between social milieus, the private and the public, and determine inclusion and exclusion. The drawing of borders can be perceived as a restriction of influence or freedom, their elimination as a loss of protection and security.

The photographers from OSTKREUZ explore the most diverse aspects of borders and address the topic at various locations around the world. Hence, the exhibition unfolds a panorama of visible and invisible, of interior and exterior borders.

With works by Jörg Brüggemann, Espen Eichhöfer, Sibylle Fendt, Annette Hauschild, Harald Hauswald, Pepa Hristova, Tobias Kruse, Ute and Werner Mahler, Dawin Meckel, Thomas Meyer, Julian Röder, Frank Schinski, Jordis Antonia Schlösser, Anne Schönharting, Linn Schröder, Heinrich Völkel, Maurice Weiss

Guided tours, kids&teens@hkw activities and a HKW radio project with refugees round off the program.
