The prize – being awarded for the fourth time – honors the author Mircea Cărtărescu for his novel „Der Körper“, published 2011 by Paul Zsolnay Verlag, Wien (original title: „Orbitor II. Corpul“, published 2002 by Humanitas/ Bukarest) and the translators Gerhardt Csejka and Ferdinand Leopold.

The prize honours a word-smithing work of narration, writing and translation in times of global literary output.

In the presence of the laureates and jury, Peter Esterházy will deliver the keynote speech, while Sigrid Löffler will be master of ceremonies. The evening concludes with a reading by Nina Petri from the prize-winning work.
