Mick Jagger calls them “one of the most musically inspiring groups still left on the planet” and they have worked with stars such as Talvin Singh, Patti Smith and Bill Laswell. The Master Musicians of Jajouka led by Bachir Attar, from the Rif mountains in northern Morocco, pass their mystical and inspirational musical tradition down through the generations.

William S. Burroughs – fascinated by an otherworldliness he had sought in vain in the US – saw and heard it as “The world’s only 4,000 year-old rock band”. Their pre-Islamic ritual music is a combination of highly complex Trance rhythms and catchy woodwind melodies, produced exclusively on traditionally manufactured instruments: Goatskin and ceramic drums, bamboo flutes, double reed instruments and violin-like “kamanchehs”. The aftershow party is being taken care of by DJ Dub Gabriel with dance music that blends Post Punk, Dubstep and ancient Trance sounds.
