Michael Oppitz

Prof. Dr. Michael Oppitz, long-time director of the of the Ethnographic Museum of the University of Zurich, is one of the German-speaking world’s leading field researchers into Asian shamanism and enjoys international renown.

His film, “Shamans of the Blind Country” is well known around the world. Oppitz’ latest film is about a helicopter tour he took with a Nepalese healer, who appears to have intimate bird’s eye knowledge of the flight route – solely from his own mystical flight experiences! The lecture accompanying the film’s première focuses on this juxtaposition of two realities.
