“Café com Leite“ tells the story of a young homosexual couple whose plans for the future have the rug pulled from beneath them by the death of one of their parents, leaving him to take care of his younger brother. Amid the emotional chaos of affection, pain and disappointment, the three figure out how to live together. In 2008, the film was awarded the Glass Bear Generation 14plus at the Berlinale.

Os famosos e os duendes da morte (The Famous and the Dead)
D: Esmir Filho, BR / FR 2009, 95 min, English subtitles
“Mr. Tambourine Man“ is the alias assumed by a young 16-year-old Bob Dylan fan growing up in a small village in Brazil. An outsider at school, he occasionally smokes grass with his friend Diego and dreams of seeing Dylan perform live some day. His only way out of the constraints of his village environment is the Internet, where he increasingly loses touch with the outside world. The director Esmir Filho says: “When we are grown up, everything we have experienced seems trivial but for all of us it was a phase that was both terrifying and clarifying.“
