Those who live in the hall of “Gare de Lyon” are at the very bottom of the social hierarchy. After having lost everything that ever meant anything to them, they expect nothing more from society and it doesn't expect any more from them. Hardly anything connects them to their fellow humans any longer. They have developed their own rituals, ticks and preferences and they live accordingly, trying to make ends meet. Based on her text, the author will talk about the creation of this young adult book and discuss this kind of life on the edge of society with participating students.
