This retelling of the world famous fairy tale of Tom Thumb is extraordinary because it tells the story of the family, the seven brothers, the tyrannical step-mother, and the fantastic events in the forest, in diary form. Tightly intertwined, picture and text enrich each other by adding layers of meaning and literary and historical allusions. With a lot of humour and while keeping the child audience in mind, this new version portrays Tom Thumb's journey in an original way.
