Kiki's father works as a doctor, often in war zones, and his family is left at home with their fears for his well-being. His daughter develops her own system of logical reasoning in order to deal with her fears. She believes she can ensure his return by connecting the probabilities of single, otherwise independent, events. This leads to situations both comic and tragic that make it clear how difficult it sometimes is to deal with our own powerlessness.
