The panel discussion will examine various facets of translating in the light of contemporary developments in the literature trade in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). How much interest is there in literary translations amongst the public? Are there publishers and literary journals which promote the literary exchange within CEE by implementing a consistent translation policy? How should the establishment of "new literary languages" like Belarusian be evaluated?
