German premiere

Namibia’s music scene is booming. AfricAvenir and the Haus der Kulturen der Welt will present the German premiere of one of Namibia’s most popular music acts.

Lady May – Style Icon and Whirlwind on Stage.
The 23-year old Lady May, who combines modern and traditional styles in her music, has not only made a name from her unique music style, but also from her impressive danceshows. With her exceptional blend of Afropop, R&B and traditional music from the north of Namibia, she was awarded at the pan-African Channel O Music Award in 2008 as well as at the recent 2009 competition. In Berlin Lady May will be presenting songs from her new album Pink Chocolate (2009).

“Don’t be afraid of challenges and of being who you are meant to be, believe in dreaming none stop and always have a positive outlook on life.” (Lady May)
