Free admission

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, the Sound Studies program at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) will explore the auditory layers of the house. The building will be heard as an instrument, as a person playing music, as an ecological sound field. Twelve artists in Sound Studies along with their professors have sounded out the house. They will present echolocations and vertical hearing, historical documents and sonic fictions, sung paths, specific room sounds and a series of radio broadcasts.

With works by Anna Bäumer, Jan Cziharz, Anke Eckardt, Florian Goeschke, Annie Goh, Julius Holtz & Alexander Sieber, Marco Montiel-Soto, Damian Rebgetz, Robert Schwarz & Emad Parandian, Thomas Wochnik

Director: Prof. Dr. Holger Schulze
Artistic Advisor: Prof. Sam Auinger, Ulrike Sowodniok M.A.
