Oumou Sangaré’s voice and songs brings us the magical chants and rhythms of the Wassolou in Mali. The singer, who is among the most popular artists in Africa, is back on tour through Europe with her new album “Seya,” which means joy. Driven by a funky jazz beat, her emancipated texts deal with all aspects of life, including forced marriage and violence.

Monica Salmaso from São Paulo will open the show with interpretations of „Noite de gala, samba na rua,“ by Chico Buarque. The great Brazilian singer and composer Edu Lobo marvels: „She has the best voice I have heard in years.“
