‘To learn from the USSR means to learn to win’, people used to say in Germany. And this music offensive from St. Petersburg certainly adds force to the statement. The duo combine Surf and Elektro with quotes from Russian-English sound tracks from 1960’s trash movies, not to mention the occasional projection: cuts from the most absurd erotic, horror and science-fiction movies. Sexy, vampiresque, occult and somehow off-limit. Messer Chups call it ‘post-easy listening’.
