The Eternal Garden in front of the House of World Cultures: with the Tiergarten as her backdrop, Megumi Fukuda makes hundreds of artificial tulips sprout from the earth in next to no time: Made of Plastic! Rebecca Horn’s pupil comes from Hiroshima, where her grandparents, as gardeners, brought new life into a devastated city. With her splendid artificial garden, she establishes a relationship to ‘real’ nature with her work and asks questions about into the nature of change and permanence, transience and beauty.
