Climate activism led by young people in Germany receives much positive, if often just symbolic, encouragement. White, privileged positions dominate, while people in the global South, who are disproportionately affected by climate change, are only marginally heard or appear as victims. How can global climate justice play a greater role? How can a holistic, intersectional approach be found for the economic, environmental, social and political realities of a future defined by the climate crisis? What role must schools and education for sustainable development play in this?
