What does it sound like to be on the run from something? How can narratives be translated into beats? In the workshop with Anas Maghrebi and Sam Zamrik, participants listen to stories from the Archive of Refuge and are inspired by them to create their own compositions with self-produced beats and audio samples processed on their smartphones.

The workshop is part of Thinking with the Pen and a Beat, a weekend curated by Sam Zamrik, poet, translator and musician from Damascus, Syria. Each of the workshops in the series can be attended independently.
