Paulinho da Viola, son of samba and choro guitarist Cesar Faria, met the greats of the genre in his own home, listened to and watched them play. They included the samba legends Clementina de Jesus and Cartola; today the soft-voiced composer and cavaquinho virtuoso is himself a great figure of the genre.
