Quantifying learning has become a priority of many school systems around the world. But it is impossible to put into numbers how to educate human beings for a meaningful, sustainable and democratic future. How should we think and speak about education if it is geared towards this task? What does it ask from teachers and what does it mean for the school? In his contribution, the educational theorist Gert Biesta will focus on these questions, outlining the contours of an education that is truly world-centered.
