Berlin post-RAF: Ton Steine Scherben are gone and every corner of the city is smoldering. Supplemental to the Atlas zum MedienDenken und MedienHandeln in Berlin project, FM Einheit will open his sound archive of the 1980s in Berlin: original sounds from the May First festivities in Kreuzberg, the clattering of Heiner Müller's typewriter in his flat in East Berlin, the noises from railway and subway stations, and various sound machines are the starting point for new compositions.

Taking part in the open sound lab on the auditorium stage are: Andrew Unruh, pioneer of sound machine art and FM Einheit's long-time partner from Einstürzende Neubauten; media archaeologist Siegfried Zielinski; and The Anarchivists (Bob Meanza, Odysseus Klissouras, Mário Gomes). Filmmaker Walter Lenertz has made raw footage available.
