With her inimitably poetic songs, Teresa Cristina has conquered the Samba cosmos, generally considered a man’s world, “through the front door”. In 2003, she was nominated at the Latin Grammys for the best Samba album and awarded prizes for Best Newcomer. But first she filled the music scene district of Rio de Janeiro and the “Bar Semente” with cheering audiences. From there, she took her Samba classics and her own compositions and lyrics, combined with virtuosity, all the way through Brazil and then to France and Japan. An impressive itinerary.
