A mandolin, two guitars; three virtuosos. The Trio Madeira Brasil plays the uniquely vibrant Choro, the musical style that arose towards the end of the 19th century as a fusion of popular European dances like the polka and waltz with the African music of the slaves. The trio always opens up its artful arrangements for masterly improvisations. The international Guitar Player Magazine is not alone in calling the Trio Madeira Brasil, which has played with Baden Powell, “a giant step in the history of Brazilian music”.
