Hagenbeck-Schule

Berlin’s Hagenbeck-Schule places environmental education and sustainable development at the focus of the school agenda. With a school zoo and a farmers’ garden, biological diversity can be experienced beyond the classroom. Developed in an open, participative, and cooperative process, this concept of a secondary school with four classes for each grade-level and over 400 pupils seeks not only to hand down knowledge to the students, but also to engrain the them with a sense of the value of biological diversity and our responsibility to maintain it. Workshop participants: Claudia Krötenheerdt, Leah Kunz, Nico Küntzel
