Seven Fields

Exhibition

This exhibition presents the results of artistic field research by young people on the topics of “Integrating Migrants”, “Multicultural Society” and “Alpha Culture”.

The question is: who belongs together and how, and who defines this? How does belonging change? Would it now be possible to collect, compare and distinguish between our likes and preferences and habits and relations, by applying criteria far removed from skin color, dialect or passports?

Along with students of ethnology and artists from various genres – including Antonia Weisz, Rainer Untch, Julija Schemberger, Zarko Jovasevic – students from three schools in Wedding, Wilmersdorf and Kreuzberg will embark on aesthetic field research in their own cultural environment. During the project weeks, they will use the methodical tools of ethnology to trace different trails, objects and clues, which can provide information about central categories of “being so”: On Collecting and Possessing I On Sharing and Swapping I On Creating and Shaping I On Inheriting and Keeping I On Love and Desire I On Faith and Hope I On Partying and Chilling.

The exhibition will present the results in the form of installations, photo series, sound collages and experimental films and texts.
