bio kazadi ebotani

Papy Ebotani started off as a musician or - to be more precise - as a Rap musician. After he finished studying dance, he worked with various groups in Kinshasa such as Céline Bacqué, Toufik Oudhiri Idrissi and Hanna Hedmann. In 2002 Papy Ebotani, like Djodjo Kazadi, was artist-in-residence in Douala for a project on “Scénographie urbaine”. In 2004 he choreographed his first composition Na Tempo.

Djodjo Kazadi performed at the Les Béjart theatre in Kinshasa after he had finished his acting studies. It was only later, at a workshop with Faustin Linyekula, that he discovered dance. In 2003 he organised the first HipHop competition in the Congolese capital and choreographed his first own composition Mudjansa for five HipHop dancers.
