IN TRANSIT has taken the notion of innovation to heart - offering, from 2005, an expanded music programme, with Chinese composer Liu Sola joining the curatorial team of West-African-French dancer and choreographer Koffi Kôkô and the House of World Cultures' Johannes Odenthal. Together, they have invited contemporary danc and theatre productions from urban centres in America, Asia and Africa, including World and European premieres. IN TRANSIT 05 opens with a focus on the Japanese dance scene, which has evolved into a unique and innovative, but hardly recognised modern dance language - post-Butoh and paralleling developments in Europe.
