Ruth Wodak is Professor Emeritus of Discourse Studies at Lancaster University, UK, and retired full Professor of Applied Linguistics at the University of Vienna. Her research has included language, politics and populism. She has received many awards for her work, including the Wittgenstein Prize in 1996. She has also held numerous visiting professorships at universities and published 12 monographs, (co-)edited over 80 books and written over 400 reviewed essays and book chapters.
