Guillermo Lares

Guillermo Lares is an architect and sound researcher based in Bogotá. Since 2012 he has developed exhibitions and installations that approach sound and sound culture in relation to architectural space. Since 2015 he has explored formats to present the Venezuelan music archive of his father Oswaldo Lares, looking to artistically display forms, rather than considering a traditional ethnological exhibition. He is the founder of ArchivOlares, a platform for managing the audio-visual collections of his father and propagates the interdisciplinary and collaborative work from the archive material. The collections have been displayed in festivals and solo exhibitions at Bogotá, Caracas, Berlin, London, Porto and Brussels among others.
