Karin Harrasser is a professor of cultural theory at the University of Art and Design Linz. In addition to her academic work, she has developed numerous projects at the intersection of arts, humanities and science communication, including projects at nGbK Berlin, Kampnagel Hamburg, Tanzquartier Wien, and MobileAcademy Berlin. Her research focuses on the techniques and media of the body, popular culture and science fiction, gender and agency and the longue durée of coloniality. She is co-editor in chief of Zeitschrift für Kulturwissenschaften. Her publications include Auf Tuchfühlung: Eine Wissensgeschichte des Tastsinns (2017) and Prothesen: Figuren einer lädierten Moderne (2016).
