Ali Atef

Ali Atef is a doctoral candidate at the Anthropology Department of the University of Chicago. His dissertation focuses on the relationship between contemporary archiving practices and the history of Egyptian cinema. His research interests include ethnographic methods, visual media, and contemporary archiving practices, particularly independent film archives in Egypt and the Arab world.
