May Adadol Ingawanij ist Filmtheoretikerin, Dozentin und Kuratorin. Zurzeit schreibt sie an dem Buch Animistic Cinema: Moving Image Performance and Ritual in Thailand. Zu ihren bisherigen Publikationen gehören Long Walk to Life: the Films of Lav Diaz (2015), Animism and the Performative Realist Cinema of Apichatpong Weerasethakul (2013), Glimpses of Freedom: Independent Cinema in Southeast Asia (2012) und Nguyen Trinh Thi’s Essay Films (erscheint demnächst), sowie Image Mobility, Artistic Dispositif and Animistic Cinema. Ihre jüngsten kuratorischen Projekte sind: Lav Diaz Journeys an der London Gallery West (2017), Attachments and Unknowns bei Sa Sa Bassac, Phnom Penh (2017) und Southern Collectives am BIM, Buenos Aires (2017). Ingawanij unterrichtet am Centre for Research and Education in Arts and Media der University of Westminster.
