Konkani Music, a mix of jazz, rock n roll, Latin American rhythms, Portuguese influences and pop-like tearjerkers, developed in Goa from the 1920s to the 1970s. On the trail of central figures such as trumpet player Chris Perry or the legendary singer Lorna, sound engineer Sigrid Pfeffer explored this incredible mix, compiling the CD “Konkani Songs” in 2009.

Kiran Nagarkar’s novels tell of postcolonial urban India – as does his unpublished book “Rest in Peace.” Nagarkar reads from what is the third part of his trilogy about Ravan and Eddie, two youths from Mumbai’s high-rise projects who try their luck in the music and film industry.

Nagarkar meets Naresh Fernandes in a DJ dialogue. The former editor in chief of Time Out Mumbai is not only an expert on the city’s contemporary music scene but also its history. In 2012 he published “Taj Mahal Foxtrot: The Story of Bombay's Jazz Age.”
