Ahmad Beydoun is a historian and sociologist. Until 2007, he was Professor of Sociology at the Lebanese University, Beirut, as well as a visiting lecturer in various universities throughout France. He has led and participated in cultural and scientific projects, organizations, and encounters in Lebanon as well as in over twenty other countries. He has published over fifteen books on subjects ranging from Lebanon’s society and political system to Arabic cultural and linguistic issues, in addition to literary works and translations. His works include Al-Rabiʻ al-fa’et (Le printemps manqué: la détresse des nations arabes, 2016) and Le Liban: Itinéraires dans une guerre incivile (1993).
