Mucho Indio (Colombia)

A unique mixture comprising the areas of recording and street art, traditional sounds and electronically processed acoustic guitar and flute: Mucho Indio, a 15-strong artists’ collective, reflects the Indio music of the Amazon region.

When people learn by listening to the music and song of the wind in a swaying giant tree and the flowing water, they have a different relationship to nature. And when a piece of music lasts anything up to forty-eight hours, it suggests they have a different relationship to time. Mucho Indio tries to rediscover these perspectives for contemporary urban culture: to uncover “the new within the old". Mucho Indio create sound collages and melodies with a meditative charm that conjure up entire landscapes before the inner eye.
