Interdependence Day 2010: SustainAbility

The events of September 11, 2001 were ”triggers” for examining the mutual interdependence and challenges of living together in a globalized world. In 2003, Benjamin Barber initiated Interdependence Day, an international forum which this year is being held in Berlin for the first time with the theme: ”SustainAbility.”

International personalities in science, society, culture, and politics will discuss the need for global cooperation. The focus of the discussions are climate change, environmental sustainability, and the role of cultural activities. With Benjamin Barber, Brothers Keepers, Claus Leggewie, Michael Nauman, Claus Offe, Bhikhu Parekh, Tariq Ramadan, Imam Abdul Sajid, Saskia Sassen, and others.
