Why don’t you become actively involved in the House of World Cultures’ programme: Since May 2007, approximately thirty sopranos, altos, tenors, baritones and basses, including people of all ages and from diverse backgrounds, come together every Monday to practice in the choir under the direction of the musician Barbara Morgenstern.
The repertoire ranges from pop to traditional to new music. International composers have already contributed pieces to the choir’s repertoire. The highlights, however, are the performances: the Choir had its première at the festive opening of the renovated House in September 2007. Performances at Worldtronics 2007, with the electronic pioneers Harmonia, for example, at the WATER MUSIC festival on the Spree in 2008, at the German-French-Polish Summer Festival at Schloss Genshagen and in the Tentstation make the Choir an ambassador of the cultures of the world.
