Samuel Merrill

Samuel Merrill forscht als Wissenschaftler zu Themen wie Erinnerung, Landschaft, historisches Erbe und Infrastruktur – insbesondere im weiteren Kontext der Untergrundbahn in räumlicher, politischer und kultureller Hinsicht. Sein Buch Networked remembrance: excavating buried memories in the railways beneath London and Berlin wird dieses Jahr herausgegeben von Peter Lang erscheinen. Zu seinen jüngeren Veröffentlichungen zählen Negotiating the memories and myths of World War II in civilian suffering in the railways beneath London and Berlin, in Battlefield Events: Landscape, Commemoration and Heritage, hrsg. v. Keir Reeves u. a. (2016) und Identities in transit: the (re)connections and (re)brandings of Berlin’s municipal railway infrastructure after 1989, im Journal of Historical Geography (2015). Merrill ist derzeit Postdoktorand im Bereich digitale Soziologie an der Universität Umeå, Schweden.
